Individual Assignment 1 (10%)

Discuss the roles of information professionals in the era of information technology.

You are required to submit a report of 2-3 pages

Date of submission: 9 august 2010

 

Group project (3-4 students) (5%)

Visit any information agencies of your choice (a library, museum or an archive) and prepare a report on the following:

1. Background of the information agency
   
2. Aims and objectives
   
3. Organizational chart
   
4. Services provided
   
5. Any other relevant information
   

The visit should be an informal visit (no acknowledgment letter will be produce by the faculty). Collect as many pamphlets, brochures or any other sources of information for your report (appendices). You are also required to visit the organization web site for additional information. No interviews (organizational staff) are needed.

If you wish to take photos, please ask the staff for permission.

1. You are required to submit a report of 5-8 pages
   
2. Date of submission: 14 September 2010
   

 

Group presentation (5%)

Based on the report, prepare a brief PowerPoint presentation (10 mins). Group presentation will take place before the study week.

• Marks will be given based on your content, teamwork, clarity and time management.
  

 

The report should follow the following specification:

1. Font type – Times New Roman
   
2. Font size – 12
   
3. Spacing – 1.5
   
4. Text alignment - Justify
   
5. All report should be submitted on time.
